Spiritual, Moral, Social & Cultural Development

Our commitment to spiritual, moral, social and cultural education is embodied in the aims and vision for the school, and underlined by the dictum ‘High achievement and access for all are our shared responsibilities’.

We promote student’s spiritual, moral, social and cultural development in a variety of ways. Explicit teaching occurs through:

  • The subject and pastoral curriculum
  • Excellent support and guidance systems
  • Carefully planned assemblies
  • Our programme for personal, social, health and citizenship education (PSHCE),
  • Our careers and work experience programme.

Through this overarching aspect of the curriculum, all students are aware of different forms of bullying, including cyber-bullying and prejudice-based bullying (including transphobic, homophobic, sexist, racist and disability based).
