Lateral Flow Testing (LFT)

Around 1 in 3 people with COVID-19 do not have symptoms.

Rapid lateral flow tests help to find cases in people who may have no symptoms but are still infectious and can give the virus to others.

The test involves taking a sample from your tonsils (or where they would have been) and from your nose, using a swab. You can get a result in 30 minutes.

Testing at Home

Students are required to test twice per week using the home testing kits provided by the school. The test days are: Sunday & Monday. After every test you must report the result to the NHS using this link and to the school using the link below. Tests must be conducted by your child under close supervision of yourself as a parent or guardian, using these instructions

If the result of the test is positive, both the school and NHS will be in touch to support you with the next step in the process. This will often require a follow-up confirmatory PCR test at a designated testing site. Until this point your family must isolate pending the confirmation of the result.
